The vision of this organization is to "bring all the persons with various disabilities of (PwD) Indian citizens in the main stream of India and thus to strive for a peaceful progressive world. SAKSHAM believes that the disabled people are not burden on the society but assets of the nation and the whole earth. SAKSHAM has its commitment towards all the persons with various disabilities and also to environment, health and other social activities to strengthen the society.
By keeping this in mind we the Thiruvananthapuram district chapter of SAKSHAMA in Kerala conducts various programs for the welfare measures for our Persons With Disabilities (PWD) brethren. The Union Government of India has also recognized Sakshama and selected it as a nodal agency for conducting distribution camps for distributing various aids and equipment free of cost to the PWD persons in Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) District, Kerala India so as to reach out and extend necessary help to the deserving and needy people with disabilities.
Under the guardianship of Sakshama Thiruvananthapuram District Committeee, a school especially for children suffering from Autism / Cerebral palsy / Mental Retardation named DHEEMAHI has been started in a rented building at Nemom, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India in the year of 2018. The pious aim of Dheemahi school is to empower such children with diverse abilities and helps them to realize their immense potential by empowering them and to make them self-sufficient. This school now caters the educational needs of such children and a hub to provide the PWD people in and around with necessary assistance in terms of medical and food aid.We have further collected a data base of such people in the district so as to ensure that they are not deprived of any help such as medicines, food etc and to fetch every assistance from the Government and such generous persons and institutions like you. It is our long term objective to develop Deemahi School into an integrated research institution for education and rehabilitation center for those children in order to uplift their overall life and integrate them in the society so as to lead a life of dignity and pride.
